Doug Bates joined Grandbridge in 2008. As a vice president in Grandbridge’s Kansas City office, he is responsible for the origination of commercial and multifamily loans and sourcing equity for real estate transactions. Mr. Bates has experience structuring transactions involving permanent financing (forward commitments and immediate fundings), construction/permanent financing, bridge and mezzanine loans and equity capital for a variety of asset types and structures, including multifamily, office, industrial, retail, hospitality, self-storage, Historic Tax Credits, Low-Income Housing Tax Credits, seniors housing, student housing and manufactured housing. Capital sources include life insurance companies, Fannie Mae, Freddie Mac, FHA, banks, and CMBS. 

Mr. Bates earned his Master of Business Administration (Finance) and Bachelor of Journalism degrees from the University of Missouri. He earned his Certified Commercial Investment Member (CCIM) designation in 2012. Prior to Grandbridge, Mr. Bates had nine years of professional sales and management experience. 

Mr. Bates is an active member in various real estate organizations, including the Mortgage Bankers Association (MBA), CCIM, and Urban Land Institute (ULI). He also serves on a number of local civic and charitable organizations, including Parkinson’s Foundation of the Heartland, Tiger Club of Kansas City and LexiAbility, which provides resources for children and families dealing with dyslexia.
