Joseph P. Platt began his career in commercial real estate finance in 1994. As a Senior Vice President with Grandbridge Real Estate Capital and Office Manager of the Kansas City office, his primary responsibility is to originate debt and equity financing for private and public real estate owners through relationships with a variety of capital sources which include insurance companies, investment banks, governmental agencies, commercial banks and credit institutions.

Mr. Platt has extensive experience in the origination, structuring, placement and closing of various real estate product types, including industrial, retail, multifamily, office, hospitality, medical office and seniors housing properties. Capital structures closed include permanent financing (both forward commitments and immediate fundings), mezzanine and equity placement, as well as bridge and construction financing.

Since joining Grandbridge’s Kansas City office in 2004, Mr. Platt has consistently been among the firm’s top producers. Prior to joining Grandbridge, he was a Vice President with RBS Greenwich Capital in Chicago. In that capacity, he originated CMBS, interim, mezzanine and preferred equity transactions. Mr. Platt began his career as an analyst with Baird & Warner Real Estate Capital (now Northmarq) in Chicago.

Mr. Platt graduated from the University of Arizona where he earned a Bachelor of Science degree in Business with a major in Real Estate Finance. Mr. Platt is an active member in various real estate organizations, including the Mortgage Bankers Association and ULI – Kansas City. He also serves on a variety of local civic and charitable organizations, including the Boys and Girls Clubs of Kansas City, J-LEAD and as Executive Board Member of the Alzheimer’s Association – Heart of America. Mr. Platt was selected to participate in the membership of Kansas City Tomorrow (Class of 2008), a leadership development program sponsored by the Civic Council of Kansas City.
