Thomas J. Turner III is a member of the Board of Managers of Grandbridge Real Estate Capital and has been in the mortgage banking industry since 1973. He was President and CEO of Charter American Mortgage Company and Chairman of Collateral Real Estate Capital prior to its merger and the formation of Grandbridge on November 1, 2007. Grandbridge is a wholly owned subsidiary of BB&T. Mr. Turner is active in the national Mortgage Bankers Association, various real estate and finance organizations, and is a licensed real estate broker in Kansas and Missouri.

Mr. Turner is a native of Kansas City and graduated from the University of Missouri at Columbia where he earned a Bachelor of Science degree in Business and a Master of Arts degree in Advertising from the School of Journalism. He was captain of the University of Missouri tennis team and a member of Beta Theta Pi fraternity. Following graduate school, Mr. Turner spent two years as an officer in the United States Army, including one year in South Vietnam, as a First Lieutenant with both the First Logistical Command and the First Aviation Brigade.

Mr. Turner is currently a Trustee and former Board of Trustees Chairman of the University of Missouri-Kansas City, and serves on the Boards of the Country Club Bank and the Ina Calkins Foundation. He also currently serves on the Board and previously served as Board Chairman of RBI (Reviving Baseball in the Inner City). Mr. Turner is a past Director of the J.C. Nichols Company, Bank IV Kansas City, Children’s Therapeutic Learning Center, Boys and Girls Clubs of Kansas City, The American Royal, and a host of other business and civic organizations.
