Matthew C. Halberg
Matthew, Vice President, is based in the company’s Minneapolis office. He is directly responsible for origination of commercial and multifamily loans and sourcing institutional equity for real estate transactions. Matthew has successfully originated and closed financing packages for single- and multi-tenant industrial, office, retail, multifamily, hotel and mixed-use properties. Matthew has structured transactions involving permanent debt, bridge debt, mezzanine debt, and equity with a variety of sources including insurance companies, CMBS lenders, commercial banks, agencies and institutional equity sources.
Matthew has a bachelor of science degree from the University of Wisconsin-Madison and a Juris Doctorate from Hamline University School of Law in St. Paul, MN. He began his career in mortgage banking in 2001 as an analyst with L. J. Melody. He was instrumental in opening the Minneapolis Office of Collateral Real Estate Capital in 2003, becoming a vice president in 2004. Matthew was the “Rookie of the Year” in 2005 and awarded a “Chairman’s Circle of Excellence” award in 2006.
Matthew is a founder and board member of Vision for Business, a Twin Cities-based leadership/philanthropy group, and sits on a national advisory committee for planned giving for Pheasants Forever. He is also a member of National Association of Industrial and Office Properties (NAIOP), and the Minnesota Shopping Center Association (MSCA).
