W. G. Dunkum, III

Based in the Houston office, W. G. “Gary” is a senior vice president with Grandbridge Real Estate Capital LLC. Grandbridge acquired Live Oak Capital, Ltd., in December of 2008, where Gary served as a principal. He founded and operated Live Oak Capital’s predecessor, The Dunkum Mortgage Group (DMG), for 11 years.

Prior to DMG's formation, Gary directed the Houston office of Coldwell Banker Commercial Real Estate Finance Services as vice president and manager. Before joining Coldwell Banker, Gary worked for American National Insurance Company as regional manager for mortgage lending.

Gary was employed by Jefferson-Standard Life Insurance Company (now Jefferson-Pilot Financial) prior to American National, where he served as the Houston-based district supervisor of mortgage lending in South Texas, for 5 years.

He graduated from Southern Methodist University with a bachelor’s degree in both finance and real estate and earned his MBA. Gary is a licensed Texas real estate broker and a Fellow of the Life Management Institute, specializing in life insurance investments.

Gary has served as a panelist, featured speaker and/or instructor at meetings including: Mortgage Bankers Association; Texas Mortgage Bankers Association; Association of Women in Commercial Real Estate; Young Mortgage Bankers Association; and Texas A&M University.

A lifelong resident of Texas, Gary has been active in the Houston commercial real estate finance industry since 1973.
